Next weekend Sailor Moon fans in Columbia, North Carolina will have a chance to meet Jennifer Cihi. She will be a guest at Banzaicon which will take place from November 11th to the 13th at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Jennifer Cihi performed a number of songs from the original English dub of the Sailor Moon anime.
On the three English Sailor Moon soundtracks her name is credited as Sailor Moon, Princess Serena and Sailor Mars. She has provided the vocals for “I Wanna Be A Star!”, “My Only Love”, “Carry On”, “It’s A New Day”, “Call My Name”, “The Power of Love”, “I Want Someone to Love”, “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and “Who Do You Think You Are?”.
Great news for London, Ontario Sailor Moon fans! This weekend Tracey Moore, the original voice of Sailor Moon, and Ron Rubin, the voice of Artemis, will be at Forest City Comicon at the London Convention Centre. Tracey Moore voiced Sailor Moon for 13 episodes of the original English dub of the series before being replaced by Terri Hawkes who did most of the first two seasons. Tracey Moore was also voice director for the episodes she starred in as well as two others. Ron Rubin voiced Artemis but never appeared in the same episode as Tracey Moore due to the fact that he only showed up a bit later in the series.
Both voice actors will be on a panel “The Voices of Sailor Moon: Ron Rubin & Tracey Moore” at noon on Saturday November 5th. Individually Ron Rubin will have a panel Saturday afternoon at 6pm and then Tracey Moore will have a panel on Sunday November 6th at 1pm.
Great news for Tampa Bay area Sailor Moon fans. This weekend is MegaCon Tampa Bay at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa Florida. In attendance will be Linda Ballantyne, the voice of Sailor Moon, and Katie Griffin, the voice of Sailor Mars, both from the original English dub of the first Sailor Moon anime series. Also in attendance will be Cassandra Lee Morris, the voice of Calaveras of the Ayakashi Sisters from the new English dub of Sailor Moon R and Sailor Moon Crystal.
The main panel with Linda Ballantyne and Katie Griffin to catch is at 3pm in Saturday with “Moon Prism Power! Sailor Moon Memories with Star Voice Actors”. Later Saturday at 6pm fans can see “Anime Bloopers with Cassandra Lee Morris”. Sunday at 2pm is the Q&A with Cassandra Lee Morris. All panels are held in room 18. Will any of you be at this convention?
This weekend Windsor and Detroit Sailor Moon fans will have a chance to meet Linda Ballantyne, the voice of Sailor Moon, and Katie Griffin, the voice of Sailor Mars, at Winsdor ComiCon. The convention will take place Saturday October 15th and Sunday October 16th at the Ceasers Windsor Casino. Although it’s held at a Casino teenagers too young to gamble should be fine in attending as it’s taking place at the Colosseum which is separate from the gambling areas.
Will you be attending this convention this weekend?
Viz held an official Sailor Moon panel earlier today at New York Comic Con. This panel mostly presented news that we already new about Viz’s work on Sailor Moon Crystal and the original Sailor Moon anime. Sailor Moon S part 1 will be released on video November 15th. You can preorder it using the Amazon links below. They announced that there would be a Moonlight Party on November 11th. Nothing specific about episodes was announced however every previous Moonlight Party has coincided with the release of dubbed episodes of the original Sailor Moon anime or Sailor Moon Crystal on Hulu. With Sailor Moon S coming out only a few days after this Moonlight Party it seems only logical that this may include the release of a few dubbed episodes of Sailor Moon S to get fans excited about the upcoming video release. These events often include trivia contests and voice actors, though again no specifics have been announced.
It’s important to note that Hulu has changed their service, restricting content to paid users. Viz’s complete Sailor Moon library is now available to stream for free on Yahoo! View. We might expect to see any new dubbed episodes of Sailor Moon S on that service as well. Sailor Moon episodes remain free to watch on Viz’s streaming service Neon Alley. This really applies to Americans. Canadians won’t be able to view any of these services and we’re not bitter about it at all!
Keep in mind that this is all speculation on my part. We may be getting the lamest Moonlight Party to date and not having any episodes released! This would be completely uncharacteristic of other releases which is why I’m choosing to jump to the conclusions I am. Viz did state that this Moonlight Party would be “a little different” so this might mean “a little terrible” so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt. I’m not one to post unfounded rumours which is why I’m presenting you with all of the information and allowing you to draw your own conclusions. We will almost certain receive more specifics about this event prior to November 11th. One way or another I’ll shared those specifics on the site as we learn them.
This coming weekend Sailor Moon fans in Texas will be able to meet some of their favourite voice actors from the original English dub of the Sailor Moon anime at Realms Con at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi. Fans will have a chance to meet Linda Ballantyne, the voice of Sailor Moon, Katie Griffin, the voice of Sailor Mars, Susan Roman, the voice of Sailor Jupiter and Toby Proctor, the voice of Tuxedo Mask.
Realms Con is a yearly multimedia convention focusing on anime, comics, gaming and horror. The convention will run Friday to Sunday, September 30th to October 2nd. Will any of you be attending this weekend?
Stephanie “Sugar” Lyn Beard, the voice of Rini and Sailor Mini Moon from the original dub of Sailor Moon S and SuperS, will be appearing at Unplugged Expo at the Westin Harbour Castle Conference Centre in Toronto October 15th and 16th.
Canadian Sailor Moon fans will not only remember Sugar as the voice of Rini but also as one of the PJs from YTV’s The Zone, the after school zone programming block which played many shows, including Sailor Moon, here in Canada. Sugar will be appearing with her fellow PJ Carlos who hosted the Zone during the same time frame.
YTV, like the company which produced the first English dub of the original Sailor Moon anime, is based in Toronto where this convention takes place. It’s no coincidence that so many voice actor appearances occur in Toronto!
I won’t be able to attend Unplugged Expo this year but I have fond memories of my time at the convention 3 years ago during Unplugged Expo 2. Will you be attending this one?

Toronto Sailor Moon fans will have a chance to meet stars from the original and new dubs of Sailor Moon at Fan Expo in Toronto the weekend of September 1st to the 4th. From the 90s dub of the original Sailor Moon anime the convention will feature Linda Ballantyne, Sailor Moon, Katie Griffin, Sailor Mars, Susan Roman, Sailor Jupiter, Toby Proctor, Tuxedo Mask, Jill Frappier, Luna and Ron Rubin, Artemis. This is the main group that’s advertised as “The Stars of Sailor Moon” who will have a Sailor Moon Q&A panel.
With a convention of this size there are a lot of other voice actors present, some of which are in the new dub of Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon Crystal which is being done by Viz. Voice actors from the new dub include Cherami Leigh, Sailor Venus, Veronica Taylor, Sailor Pluto, Todd Haberkorn, the voice of both Jadeite and Kenji Tsukino and Cassandra Lee Morris, Calaveras of the Ayakashi Sisters.
Fans may know Veronica Taylor best as the voice of Ash Ketchum and Ash’s Mom in Pokémon. Does this mean a Sailor Moon/Pokémon crossover will be announced at the convention? No. Of course not.
Do you plan on attending? I’ll be there this year. This will be my third time attending Fan Expo. It’s a great convention.
Good news for Toronto Sailor Moon fans who can’t get enough Sailor Moon related events. A Sailor Moon Pop Up Cafe is coming on July 30th. A Sailor Moon themed menu, including Sailor Moon Parfait, Cupcakes, Cookies and Sailor Guardian drinks, will be served. There will be an art and colouring competition, karaoke and more.
