The first round of Sailor Moon pyjamas and lingerie were released in February. Now, as posted on the official Sailor Moon site, Peach John is expanding their line to include lingerie of all 10 Sailor Guardians as well as 7 dresses including some school uniforms. They now offer lingerie for rest of the Sailor Guardians, Sailor Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, Pluto and of course the completely inappropriate Sailor Chibi Moon lingerie! The existing and new lingerie items have also been upgraded to include a skirt! They still include the original bra top, panties and choker on top of the new skirts. That’s right, you’ll need to upgrade your Sailor Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus lingerie sets. All sets cost 7,538 yen (about $70 US).
This round isn’t all about lingerie! Bandai is also offering some costume style dresses of some of the Sailor Guardians’ civilian school uniforms as well as dresses for Princess Serenity and Black Lady. Go to school dressed up as Usagi, Ami, Rei, Makoto or Minako. The school uniforms are 5,378 yen (about $50 US). If you’re really rich the Princess Serenity dress is 14,018 (about $130 US) though at a slightly more affordable 9,698 (about $90) you might be able to convince your father to buy you the Black Lady dress.
Pre-orders from Premium Bandai begin September 19th.
The first image of the upcoming Sailor Venus Pullip doll was released on the Sailor Moon official site which prompts us all to ask “Where is Sailor Mars?”. Sailor Venus is the fifth Sailor Guardian to appear yet she’s the third Pullip released! Sailor Moon was released in July and Sailor Mercury will be released in October. Sailor Venus will be shown at a Doll Show coming up on Monday September 15th. Pullip dolls are highly detailed collectible somewhat creepy dolls with disproportionately large heads.
For those looking for the Sailor Mercury doll they can pre-order it from Premium Bandai to get an exclusive school uniform. The normal version is 16,000 yen (about $150 US) while the exclusive version is 19,000 yen (about $178 US). The exclusive for Sailor Moon was Luna. Perhaps the exclusive for Sailor Venus will be Artemis! No specific release date or pricing has been announced for Sailor Venus but she will likely be sold for the same as Sailor Moon and Mercury.
A Sailor Mercury Pullip doll has been announced on the Sailor Moon official site. This is the second Pullip doll to be announced after the Sailor Moon doll which we have posted about a few times already and was released last month. Pullip dolls are high quality collector’s dolls that are occasionally made for 3rd party franchises, like this one. The Sailor Moon Pullip doll is selling for around $170 so the same can be expected for Sailor Mercury.
We don’t really know any details about this doll that we don’t already know about the Sailor Moon doll. It will be 12″ tall with a big head, high quality clothes, tiara and accessories. Start saving now if this is something you’re interested in!
Bandai has announced the second in it’s line of Proplica Sailor Moon products. The Cutie Moon Rod, the item Sailor Moon receives in Sailor Moon R, was announced earlier this month on Bandai’s official Sailor Moon site and later revealed at the Tokyo Toy Show. New photos and information were recently released at the official site.
Much like the Proplica Moon Stick which has been released and that we have already reviewed, this is a life sized item, measuring 44 cm (17 inches), which looks exactly like the one used by Sailor Moon in the show. It will have lights and sounds and retail for a mere 10,000 yen (about $100 US) which is more than the Moon Stick, but understandable given how much bigger it actually is. Check out the photo above from Sailor Moon German to get a sense of it’s size when placed aside the Moon Stick. Clips of such things as “Moon Princess Halation” will be voiced by Kotono Mitsuishi, the voice of Sailor Moon.
Information about how or where to buy it will be posted as it becomes available. As with the Moon Stick it will likely be available at a number of Japanese retailers and then later sold in North America. For now you can still buy the Moon Stick from the link below.
Bandai’s Proplica Moon Stick is now available in North America! I received mine a few days ago and I think it looks great. This is by far the most accurate looking Moon Stick to date. It comes with a stand, a swappable Silver Crystal and even a cradle to put the Silver Crystal in when not in use.

Above is a size comparison of this toy to a few others I had. The toy lights up and plays a variety of sound clips, given you get the three LR44 batteries it takes. I was able to find some at the dollar store. The sounds it makes are different depending on how long you hold the button, what the switch at the base of the toy is set to and whether or not the Silver Crystal is in the toy. Voice clips are from the anime, mostly being that of Kotono Mitsuishi though Mika Doi can also be heard as the voice of Queen Serenity. The manual coming with the toy describes all of these, given you can read Japanese, and also gives an overview of the Moon Stick in the anime and other toys that came before it.
Support this site by ordering the item from the Amazon link below. It’s not cheap but I think it’s worth the price.
Keep reading for a ton more photos of the Moon Stick and it’s packaging.
The Sailor Moon Pullip doll which was announced in March is available for pre-order in Japan and with that we have more details about it. The doll will be released in July and will cost a whopping 17,280 yen, about $170 US. Pullip dolls sure aren’t cheap! This kind of price is expected for a licensed doll like this. Sailor Moon also comes with a mini stuffed Luna accessory.
The doll’s height is 31 cm, a bit over 12 inches, with a 6.5 cm head, about 2.5 inches.
This Saturday and Sunday in Akihabara Japan is the Tamashii Nations Summer Collection 2014 event. At this event they’ve revealed the Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune S. H. Figuarts figures as well as Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter in the Figuarts Zero line!
The figures shown are all prototypes so they have no colour, except for a bit of colour in the eyes of the S. H. Figuarts figures. The S. H. Figuarts line are small very posable figures with many swappable parts such as extra faces and hands. The Figuarts ZERO line are of larger more expensive statues that feature a single pose for that character.
Also on display were all of the previous Figuarts items including a colour version of S. H. Figuarts Sailor Saturn which was displayed a while ago on the official site. Sailor Saturn is now available for pre-order in Japan from sites like JList, CD Japan and YesAsia for an August release.
Bandai’s Sailor Jupiter S. H. Figuarts figure is now available for pre-oder at Amazon.com! It will be released on August 28th in North America. Can’t wait that long? You can import Sailor Jupiter from Japan from JList, CD Japan or YesAsia for a July 19th release.
The rest of the S. H. Figuarts figures are also available on Amazon.com. Sailor Moon, Mercury and Mars are already out. Sailor Venus will be released at Amazon.com on May 21st. You can also get Sailor Venus a bit earlier from Japan on April 30th from JList, CD Japan and YesAsia.
Another great cosplay accessory is coming this July. Sailor Moon’s Disguise Pen, known as the Luna Pen in the English dub, has been announced on the official Sailor Moon site. The toy is called the “Moonlight Memory Series Light Disguise Pen”. It’s a high quality replica which lights up and actually writes! Unlike Usagi’s pen it does not appear that this gives collectors the ability to transform into a costume of their choice.
The pen will be available for preorder later this week from Bandai Premium Bandai for 4860 yen (about $47 US) and will be released in July. It is currently also up for preorder at CD Japan for 6400 yen (about $62 US).
A few weeks ago at Wonder Festival 2014 we got a look at the colour versions of the Sailor Mercury and Sailor Venus Figuarts Zero figures. We had previously only seen the colour version of Sailor Moon and the prototype for Sailor Mercury.
These 1/8 scale figures are non posable statues which stand at 8.5″ or 22 cm in height and aren’t cheap. The Sailor Moon figure will sell for 8800 yen and is listed on Amazon for $89.99. Sailor Moon goes on sale March 31st in Japan and April 22nd in North America. Sailor Mercury and Sailor Venus do not yet have release dates.
Wondering when they will reveal Sailor Mars? Me too.
