The Sailor Moon Crystal Set 2 video release has been delayed a week to February 28th

Sailor Moon Crystal Set 2, covering the Black Moon story arc, was meant to be released yesterday, February 21st, on DVD and Blu-Ray. Unfortunately fans will have to wait up to an additional week to see the set which now has a release date of February 28th. The release date has been updated on sites such as Amazon and Right Stuf.

Update: This delay only affects the Blu-Ray version. Fans have already found the DVD version on store shelves.

Right Stuf posted an updated to their Twitter account on February 21st stating that the release was delayed due to a manufacturing issue. The following day, February 22nd, they posted again saying that the sets were in and would be shipping shortly. I would expect that stores will also be getting their sets early next week, around February 28th. Let us know when you get yours!

It’s been a while since the first story arc of Sailor Moon Crystal was released on home video back in August. Fans have been waiting for news about Sailor Moon Crystal Set 2, including the Black Moon story arc, being released on home video. Amazon and the Right Stuf have listed the product for a February 21st release. Amazon has listing for the regular and limited edition with box art included. The Right Stuf also has the limited edition Blu-Ray, regular edition Blu-Ray and DVD listed with prices. They’re selling the limited edition Blu-Ray for $62.99, the regular edition Blu-Ray for $54.59 and the DVD for $31.22. Who sets a price ending in 22 cents? Mind boggling.

The box art seems consistent with the first release. The limited edition cover features Sailor Moon’s third transformation brooch, the Cosmic Heart Compact, which only shows up at the end of the second story arc. This is because this is the cover from the final volume from the original Japanese Sailor Moon Crystal releases. I’ve included a picture of that cover above for comparison. I’d uploaded this picture to a post that I never actually finished reviewing that set. This set will include the English dub of Sailor Moon Crystal which we’ve already heard for these episodes.

The regular edition box art will also likely be that shown on the case which is included inside the special edition set. Details of the release are included on the packaging. We see that this will include episodes 15 to 26. A special feature mentioned is an interview with Momoiro Clover Z, the band which performed Moon Pride, the Sailor Moon Crystal theme. The set is rated TV 14 in the US and PG in Canada. Maybe it’s the whole making out with her dad thing. The set includes art of the original Japanese covers and a full colour special booklet.

For now you can’t actually preorder the set using the links below, but at some point in the future you should be able to. The set is coming out next month after all!

The English version of Sailor Moon Crystal Act 26 – Replay – Never Ending, is now available on Hulu

The Black Moon story arc of Sailor Moon Crystal is now available to view in English on Hulu and Neon Alley in its entirety. Now that the first 26 episodes of the series have been dubbed we should expect a lengthy break before we see any other English episodes of Sailor Moon Crystal. The Infinity arc has only started to be available subbed so it will be a while until that dubbing takes place.

Crystal Tokyo is finally saved, thanks to the help of Sailor Chibi Moon. Sailor Moon must be careful not to see the future version of herself, which she does anyway with no consequence. This is the home video version of the animation which is updated from the original streaming version. The main change here is Chibiusa’s updated broach in the final scene. I mostly wrote but never got around to posting my final Blu-Ray review and that’s the most significant thing I recall from it.

The final episode of the Black Moon story will be available to view in English on Hulu and Neon Alley May 6th starting at 9pm Eastern Time. Act 26, Replay – Never Ending, will be the last English episode we will see for a while. Will the Death Phatom be defeated?

This episode features this silly thing about the old and future versions of Usagi not seeing each other. Ready to see the universe implode?

The English version of Sailor Moon Crystal Act 25, Showdown – Death Phantom, is now available on Hulu

The latest English dubbed episode of Sailor Moon Crystal is now available on Hulu and Neon Alley. We’re almost at the end of the Black Moon story arc this week with Act 25, Showdown – Death Phantom. Sailor Pluto stops time which is a taboo and the consequences might get Diana a full time job.

Chibiusa finally became a Sailor Guardian this week as we see her transformation into Sailor Chibi Moon. Next week is the last episode of this story arc and it will also be the last English dubbed episode we’ll likely see in a while. The new Infinity episodes of Sailor Moon Crystal won’t likely be dubbed for some time.

The next English dubbed episode of Sailor Moon Crystal will be available tomorrow at 9pm Eastern Time on Hulu and Neon Alley. This story arc is almost done with Act 25, Showdown – Death Phantom, as the gang are trying to defeat the evil Death Phantom.

This episode marks the first appearance of Sailor Chibi Moon! There’s also potentially good news for Diana who might have a full time job in her future!

The English version of Sailor Moon Crystal Act 24, Attack – Black Lady, is now available on Hulu

The latest English dubbed episode of Sailor Moon Crystal is now available to view on Hulu and Neon Alley. This week on Act 24, Attack – Black Lady, Chibiusa continues being the evil Black Lady. She has enslaved her father to make him her boyfriend!

With things getting real Sailor Pluto must abandon her post and to do so… she leaves Diana in charge. This update is being scheduled to be posted automatically while I’m on vacation in Italy. To do this I had to leave someone at my work in charge to cover my duties, and I was lucky to have someone well versed in my duties to do so. What exactly is part of Sailor Pluto’s job that Diana is able to do? Does she get paid for it? Oh well. At least we get a look at young Sailor Pluto this week!

Next week is Act 25, Showdown – Death Phantom. The season is almost done with just a couple of episodes left. Big changes are in store for Chibiusa!

The next English dubbed episode of Sailor Moon Crystal will be released on Hulu and Neon Alley this Friday at 9pm Eastern Time. Act 24, Attack – Black Lady, continues with Chibiusa being Black Lady and making out with her dad.

We will get real cute moment with Sailor Pluto this week as we see a flashback to when she was young. Sailor Pluto will also give Diana a part time job which makes one wonder what her actual job is if a tiny kitten can do it.

The English version of Sailor Moon Crystal Act 23, Covert Maneuvers – Wiseman, is now available on Hulu

The latest English episode of Sailor Moon Crystal is now available on Hulu and Neon Alley. Act 23, Covert Maneuvers – Wiseman, is all about Black Lady and Black Lady making out with her dad. We only got glimpses of her last week but here we see here normally. Her voice is provided by Sandy Fox, who also plays Chibiusa, though naturally it sound different from her child voice.

I love to make fun of the fact that Black Lady loves making out with her dad but this is a bit of a complex issue. Chibiusa has fairly normal feelings for her father but add time travel, magical aging and a bit of evil into the mix and things and get a bit confused. Next Friday is Act 24, Attack – Black Lady, which is a lot more Black Lady!

The next English dubbed episode of Sailor Moon Crystal will be available on Hulu and Neon Alley this Friday, April 15th, at 9pm Eastern Time. This week on Act 23, Covert Maneuvers – Wiseman, we finally get a proper look at Black Lady, the evil older version of Chibiusa who’s all about making out with her dad. Chibiusa has used magic to be aged and time travel to meet a younger version of her father. The result? A father/daughter combo that is the same age and Chibiusa is all about kissing her dad!

I joke but the reasons for Black Lady having these feelings for her father are complex. Take a young girl without a true understanding of her feelings who naturally has a love for her father and artificially age her prematurely and the result is this mess we’ve found ourselves in. Usagi is, naturally, not terribly pleased with the situation! Black Lady, who was heard briefly last week, is voiced by Sandy Fox who also plays Chibiusa. Her voice for Black Lady is quite different from what we’re used to hearing.
