  1. “Sailor Pluto will also give Diana a part time job which makes one wonder what her actual job is if a tiny kitten can do it.”

Haha, this is quite true XD !

  2. Her job apparently wasn’t too important since she ultimately leaves it. Maybe they had future Umino guard it?

    • Oh yeah, future Umino would do a great guardian : this guy is so creepy that he would scare the shit out of any enemy trying to invade our solar system !

Poor Pluto… Not only she has been doing a seemingly useless job for ages, but it even seems she never changed her clothes…

  3. I don’t know why this was something Naoko thought was a good idea to have chibiusa be interested in her own father. I get that this is the past version but it is still her father. It just is a bad idea.

Sailor Pluto is one of my favorite characters and it is so silly that she would have to guard the time door. I mean doesn’t she need to eat or go to the bathroom? I mean it just seems silly. She is one person. She doesn’t get to have a life? It’s sad that the outer soldiers have to spend their whole time alone keeping threats from coming in from the beyond the solar system. At least the inner soldiers get to be on the moon kingdom and have some fun I am assuming. I am finally caught up this season. I have to say this season has more battles or they are a little more interesting. Diana’s English voice is nice, but I feel her voice should be younger.

I wish Pluto got to spend some time as her civilian form, but since crystal season 3 has been moving at the exact pace of the manga we won’t see that.

The Sailor Senshi have to be seen as goddesses. Therefore, we can think they don’t need to fullfill the most primary needs like eating or going to the bathroom. Besides, have we ever seen a pagan god going to the bathroom ?… The outer Senshi have the ruthless duty to protect our solar system from any alien threat. This is what they were born for, this is their inner duty and destiny, and they have to be ruthless with themselves (and the others) when it comes to refrain their own moods. They are warrior and lonely guardians, and they can’t be something else (even in their civilian forms, their attitude remain severe, — protective but without compromise –, towards the world). Some stoic philosophers like Epictetus or Marcus Aurelius would say that the outer Senshi obey and follow their “ruling principle”, their very inner essence… And going against what they were born for (this said ruling principle) might lead to great disasters for the integrity of our solar system…

        • Thank you Viridian :) . I love to study the ancient Greek schools of philosophy. Since the beginning, stoicism has always represented a way of life for the stoic philosophers, and I think the outer Senshi’s duties and behaviors can be explained thanks to stoicism. The outer Senshi are very admirable, and, this being so, like Madd, Sailor Pluto is my favorite character. She even represents some kind of an ideal to me.

The thing is that we live in a society where comfort and sensuality are highly praised and “sold” to us as the only way to reach happiness. But we musn’t forget that some people have to dedicate their lives to a very rude and hard discipline, every day, so that people like us can live a “sensual” life. This is the only way we can understand why Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto never deviate from their duties, even if these duties can be terribly hard and frustrating for them at some points. Pluto is a melancholic woman, but she never complains, she never rebels against what she was born for, and while she could consume herself in anger and jealousy, she is, instead, a very kind person, a caregiver, a caretaker, a very calm soul, keeping her moods for her. Her fate may be tragic, but it isn’t unfair in any way. And she has accepted her fate. This is just beautiful :) .

  4. Sad but true. I just didn’t know what Naoko was thinking when she even made these. I mean it’s sad that the first Anime only developed the Inner Senshi mostly (and Chibiusa) while both the manga AND Crystal is leaving everyone else not Usagi in the dust. And neither versions ever developed the outers fully. They should’ve at least be given a spinoff for themselves. At least that’s what I think.

  5. In the near future, I will make sure they do a Sailor Moon/Pokemon anime crossover special.
I have cast suggestions for the Japanese cast:
    Kotono Mitsuishi as Sailor Moon
    Aya Hisakawa as Sailor Mercury
    Michie Tomizawa as Sailor Mars
    Emi Shinohara as Sailor Jupiter
    Rica Fukami as Sailor Venus
    Toru Furuya as Tuxedo Mask
Kae Araki as Sailor Chibi Moon
    Keiko Han as Luna
    Yasuhiro Takato as Artemis
    Rica Matsumoto as Ash Ketchum
    Mayumi Iizuka as Misty
    Yuji Ueda as Brock
    Ikue Otani as Pikachu
    Megumi Hayashibara as Jessie
    Shinichiro Miki as James
    Inuko Inuyama as Meowth
And Sailor Moon will definitely be holding Ash Ketchum in her arms. I guarantee it.
I also have English cast suggestions for the Pokemon/Sailor Moon anime crossover special:
    Stephanie Sheh as Sailor Moon
    Kate Higgins as Sailor Mercury
    Cristina Valenzuela as Sailor Mars
Amanda Celine Miller as Sailor Jupiter
    Cherami Leigh as Sailor Venus
    Robbie Daymond as Tuxedo Mask
Sandy Fox as Sailor Chibi Moon
    Michelle Ruff as Luna
    Johnny Yong Bosch as Artemis
Veronica Taylor as Ash Ketchum (hopefully)
Rachael Lillis as Misty, and Jessie (hopefully)
Eric Stuart as Brock, and Brock (hopefully)
    Ikue Otani as Pikachu
Carter Cathcart as Meowth (since Maddie Blaustein passed away in 2008).
And Ash Ketchum will be in Sailor Mars’ arms after being injured and in Sailor Moon’s arms after being rescued in the final battle. So nobody reply on that. :D :D :D :D :D :D
