We’re only a couple of weeks away from a great convention featuring many Sailor Moon guests in Toronto. After two successful years as the Toronto Sailor Moon Celebration this event is being rebranded as the Pretty Heroes convention which will take place the weekend of June 16th and 17th. While this new convention, broader in scope, will still include all things Sailor Moon it will also cover other things which fall under the umbrella of Pretty Heroes. Naturally many Sailor Moon fans will also be interested in many other things which are covered by this convention and so I would suggest you check out the convention’s web site for all of the details. As in the past this convention will be taking place at the Ontario Science Center in Toronto.
The convention will feature a ton of Sailor Moon related voice actors which includes, from the original English dub of Sailor Moon, Stephanie Morgenstern, the voice of Sailor Venus, Vincent Corazza, the 3rd voice of Tuxedo Mask and the voice of Alan the alien, Sabrina Grdevich, the voice of Ann the alien as well as the original voice of Sailor Pluto, and Barbara Radecki, the voice of Sailor Neptune. Also from Viz’s new dub of Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon Crystal is Lauren Landa, the voice of Sailor Neptune, and Amanda Miller, the voice of Sailor Jupiter. There may be more guests announced as the convention comes up so keep an eye out on the guest list for the latest.
I had a great time at the first Toronto Sailor Moon Celebration a couple of years ago but unfortunately I could not attend last year and won’t be able to make the trip to Toronto again this year. Will any of you be attending?
The 2016 Toronto Sailor Moon Celebration is this Saturday, July 9th, at the Ontario Science Centre. Last year I attended the event and recorded the voice actor panel. This panel included Roland Parliament, voice director for the first 65 episodes and the voice of Melvin, Tony Daniels, the voice of Jadeite and Wise Man, Susan Roman, the voice of Sailor Jupiter, Ron Rubin, the voice of Artemis, and Jill Frappier, the voice of Luna. If you missed last year’s event you can watch the panel below.
This year’s event looks like it will be a lot of fun. It has some great guests including voice actors Vince Corazza, the voice of Alan and Tuxedo Mask, Tony Daniels, the voice of Jadeite and Wise Man, and David Fraser, the voice of Raye’s Grandpa and other minor roles in the series. Jennifer Cihi, who sang many songs for the English dub, will be there to perform a concert. For more information on this and other events at the convention check out the event’s web site.
The second Toronto Sailor Moon Celebration will be taking place next month, on July 9th, at the Ontario Science Center. This year has some great guests in store yet again. Voice actors Vince Corazza, the voice of Alan Granger and the third voice of Tuxedo Mask, will be there. Tony Daniels, the voice of Jadeite, will be making his second appearance at the convention. Jennifer Cihi, who provided the vocals for many songs in the original English dub of Sailor Moon, will be there to perform a concert. Fan Fiction The Show, who have previously done comedy shows in Toronto about Sailor Moon and other fandoms, will be putting on a live comedy performance at the convention.
There will also be a lot of Cosplay guests including Yume and Kitsurie from Cosmeko, Jelly Cosplay, and Ammie Cosplay. I met Cosmeko at Unplugged Expo a couple of years ago and they had some great tips for making Sailor Moon costumes and accessories.
I had a great time at the Toronto Sailor Moon Celebration last year and even had a chance to participate in a few of the panels. Unfortunately I won’t be able to make the trip to Toronto this year.
Another guest has joined the Toronto Sailor Moon Celebration taking place at the Ontario Science Centre this Sunday. Tony Daniels, the voice of Jadeite and Wise Man, also played a lot of smaller roles in the series. This one day convention will also include Roland Parliament, voice director of the first 65 episodes and the voice of Melvin, Ron Rubin, the voice of Artemis, and Jill Frappier, the voice of Luna and Susan Roman, the voice of Sailor Jupiter.
A tentative schedule has also been released which includes a number of panels, two of which I will be participating in. I will be on the Sailor Moon and Mythology panel at 11:30am and the Gender & Sociology Related to Sailor Moon panel at 5pm. Find a full schedule quoted below:
Yet another voice actor has joined the growing list that will be attending the Toronto Sailor Moon Celebration in only 2 weeks on September 27th. Susan Roman, the voice of Sailor Jupiter for the entire series in the original English dub of Sailor Moon, will be joining the previously announced guests at the convention. We previouslyreported that this one day convention at the Ontario Science Centre would also include Roland Parliament, voice director of the first 65 episodes and the voice of Melvin, Ron Rubin, the voice of Artemis, and Jill Frappier, the voice of Luna.

The bracelets are branded as Sailor Moon Day International as the event was originally going to to take place on Sailor Moon Day 2015. A lot is planned for this events including a number of panels, some of which I will be participating in. I’m coming all the way from the distant land of Gatineau. Surely you can make it out as well! For more details check out Moon Chase! and the Facebook page for the event.
Jill Frappier, the voice of Luna from the original English dub of Sailor Moon, will be appearing at a Toronto Sailor Moon Celebration on Sunday September 27th at the Ontario Science Centre. We previously announced that this single day convention would also feature Roland Parliament, voice director for the first 65 episodes and the voice of Melvin, as well as Ron Rubin, the voice of Artemis.
A single day Sailor Moon convention will be taking place in Toronto next month on September 27th. Toronto Sailor Moon fans should be sure not to miss it. The event is being put on by Emily from Moon Chase! and will feature special guest Roland Parliament, the voice of Melvin and voice director for the first 65 episodes of the original English dub of Sailor Moon and Ron Rubin, the voice of Artemis the cat throughout the series. As described on Moon Chase! and the Facebook Event for the page, the event will include:

There will be a lot to keep a fan busy with a number of panels, a vendor area and craft area. Tickets are currently only $10. The price of tickets will be going up tomorrow, August 27th, so get your tickets now. If you didn’t get a chance don’t worry, they are only going up to $12. Entry into the Ontario Science Centre exhibits must be purchased separately for those who are interested in them. I visited the Ontario Science Centre last summer and found there were a lot of interesting exhibits there which are worth checking out.
Along with your ticket you can order a $2 International Sailor Moon Day wrist band which is exclusive to this event. The event carries some Sailor Moon Day branding as it was originally planned for Sailor Moon Day earlier this month before being delayed.
Roland Parliament recently wrote the book Sailor Moon Reflections which recounted many memories from his time recording Sailor Moon. Though I never got a chance to formally review the book I did read it and found it to be fantastic. It is a very interesting take on the history of Sailor Moon that any fan of the original dub should check out.
