Pretty Heroes banner

We’re only a couple of weeks away from a great convention featuring many Sailor Moon guests in Toronto. After two successful years as the Toronto Sailor Moon Celebration this event is being rebranded as the Pretty Heroes convention which will take place the weekend of June 16th and 17th. While this new convention, broader in scope, will still include all things Sailor Moon it will also cover other things which fall under the umbrella of Pretty Heroes. Naturally many Sailor Moon fans will also be interested in many other things which are covered by this convention and so I would suggest you check out the convention’s web site for all of the details. As in the past this convention will be taking place at the Ontario Science Center in Toronto.

Sailor Moon episode 47 - Ail and An

The convention will feature a ton of Sailor Moon related voice actors which includes, from the original English dub of Sailor Moon, Stephanie Morgenstern, the voice of Sailor Venus, Vincent Corazza, the 3rd voice of Tuxedo Mask and the voice of Alan the alien, Sabrina Grdevich, the voice of Ann the alien as well as the original voice of Sailor Pluto, and Barbara Radecki, the voice of Sailor Neptune. Also from Viz’s new dub of Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon Crystal is Lauren Landa, the voice of Sailor Neptune, and Amanda Miller, the voice of Sailor Jupiter. There may be more guests announced as the convention comes up so keep an eye out on the guest list for the latest.

Sailor Neptune

I had a great time at the first Toronto Sailor Moon Celebration a couple of years ago but unfortunately I could not attend last year and won’t be able to make the trip to Toronto again this year. Will any of you be attending?

This 4th of July weekend, July 3rd to the 6th, Anime Expo in Los Angeles will be playing host to a huge number of Sailor Moon voice actors. A few weeks ago the first round of guests were announced as the convention would welcome all five of the Sailor Soliders, Linda Ballantyne, Sailor Moon, Karen Bernstein, Sailor Mercury, Katie Griffin, Sailor Mars, Susan Roman, Sailor Jupiter and Stephanie Morgenstern, Sailor Venus. This past weekend another bunch of actors were added with Toby Proctor, Tuxedo Mask, Mary Long who voice Molly, Catsy and JunJun, Ron Rubin, Artemis and John Stocker, voice director for the movies and final two seasons.

All of these actors have done many other voice acting roles. This gathering is once again being billed as part of the Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary which was first celebrated in February of 2012. This July the 20th celebration will be well into it’s third year. Will we continue celebrating Sailor Moon’s 20th Anniversary up until it’s 25th Anniversary? Only time will tell!

Stephanie Morgenstern to appear at Unplugged Expo in Toronto this October

Mina - Sailor Venus

Stephanie Morgenstern, the voice of Sailor Venus from the English dub of the Sailor Moon anime, will be the guest of honour at the Unplugged Expo October 26th & 27th in downtown Toronto. Watch this video featuring Stephanie Morgenstern for the full announcement:

The video teases “Wouldn’t it be great if we could get all the Sailor Scouts in one place at the same time?”. That certainly sounds like A Weekend of Awesome. We certainly hope more voice actors will be able to join this convention. We’ll let you know of any new developments as we learn about them.

Check out the Unplugged Expo official site and Facebook page to stay up to date on new updates.

Stephanie Morgenstern, voice of Sailor Venus, to appear at Fan Expo

Mina says watch Flashpoint on CTV

Stephanie Morgenstern, the actress who lent her voice to Sailor Venus for the first two seasons of the Sailor Moon dub, will be at Fan Expo this coming weekend, August 23rd to the 26th. As we’ve already mentioned this convention will also be playing host to voice actors Katie Griffin (Sailor Mars) and Toby Proctor (Tuxedo Mask) as well as voice director John Stocker. Despite all these people being in one place no Sailor Moon panel appears to be planned.

But Stephanie Morgenstern will not be appearing as a voice actor but rather as the creator of CTV’s Flashpoint. On Friday afternoon at 3pm CTV will having a Q&A session with cast members David Paetkau, Enrico Colantoni, Sergio Di Zio and Olunike Adeliyi. Yes that right, Amy Jo Johnson, the Pink Power Ranger, will not be including in this Q&A… The Fan Expo site describes the event as the “Cast and Crew” of Flashpoint. Stephanie’s appearnance is confirmed on the Writer’s Guild of Canada’s web site where it’s mentioned that Mark Ellis and Stephanie Morgenstern will be joining the cast on stage for Friday’s Q&A.
