The many faces of Bandai’s new Sailor Moon figure

Sailor Moon S. H. Figuarts - Crying and winking face

A lot of new pictures of the upcoming Sailor Moon S. H. Figuarts figure by Bandai have surfaced. The figure is featured in the June issue of Dengeki Hobby Magazine’s. Sailor Moon Collectibles has been sharing many new pictures of the figure as they come in on their web site and Facebook page.

Bandai's Sailor Moon S. H. Figuarts figure magazine scan

The faces we’ve seen to date include a normal Sailor Moon face, a crying face and a winking face. The normal face is seen with and without a Tiara, but since only three faces are mentioned on the web site that may indicate that the Tiara is removable from the one face, or from all of them. It may come attached to the front piece of hair based on my best guess at how the faces are held in place, but this is just speculation.

Sailor Moon - S. H. Figuarts figure

Sailor Moon Channel, the official Sailor Moon site, and Tamashii Nations have a new look at the Sailor Moon S.H. Figuarts figure from Bandai. This figure, made to commemorate Sailor Moon’s 20th Anniversary, is set to go on sale in August and comes with a small Luna figure. We last saw these figures at Bandai’s trade show last year. These new images show Sailor Moon’s moon stick which was not previously seen.

“Moon’s Angels” Sailor Moon biker t-shirt for sale today and tomorrow at Nowhere Bad

Moon's Angels - Sailor Moon biker shirt

This nice looking Sailor Moon biker gang shirt is for sale at Nowhere Bad today and tomorrow for $12. Get it while you can! The shirt’s name is a reference to The Hells Angels Motorcycle Club. This is the third time we’ve seen this design posted on a daily shirt site so pick it up if you missed it last time and the time before.

This shirt’s artist is Méchante Fille’s. You can check out her web site for more of her designs.

Hello Kitty/Sailor Moon shirt available today at ShirtPunch

Hello Sailor Scouts - Sailor Moon/Hello Kitty t-shirt at ShirtPunch

This neat looking “Hello Sailor Scouts” t-shirt, crossing the worlds of Sailor Moon and Hello Kitty, is available at ShirtPunch today, April 9th, from midnight to midnight EST. Pick it up in the next 24 hours for $10 because after that it’s gone forever!

The characters on this shirt, obvious parodies of Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon, are named Sailor Meow and Sailor Mini Meow! Sailor Meow is shown with the Spiral Heart Moon Rod, which makes sense given this is the item Sailor Moon has when Sailor Chibi Moon first appears. To be a bit nitpicky Sailor Meow’s broach and tiara are consistent with earlier designs as neither of these items coexisted with the Spiral Heart Moon Rod or the presence of Sailor Chibi Moon. This version of Sailor Moon would have had a heart shaped broach and a crescent moon on her tiara. Sailor Mini Meow’s Pink Moon Stick is the one that Sailor Chibi Moon had in her Sailor Moon S form, prior to her transformation into Super Sailor Chibi Moon, so that is consistent as well.

The shirt is designed by Jelly Soup Studios. You can check out her web site Jelly’s Sketchbook for more of her art.

New Sailor Moon S figures for sale in May 2013

3D Render of a new Sailor Moon figure from China's ACG Comic Expo

New figures of Sailor Moon and the rest of the nine Sailor Soldiers will be available in May from Legend Studio.

New Sailor Moon S figures from ACG Comic Expo

Sailor Moon Collectibles reports that a few pictures from the ACG Comic Expo in Guangzhou, China from December have surfaced. These pictures show that there will be the nine figures of Sailor Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Pluto, Uranus, Neptune and Saturn. Unfortunately we just get cutouts with no real indication of what the toys would look like for most of the girls but we get a bit more of a look at Sailor Moon herself. There are some CG renders of the Sailor Moon figure and it’s individual parts which gives us a good idea of what the finished product might look like. We see for example that the figure will have a number of swappable faces and by seeing all the pieces we can get a good idea of the articulation the final product might have.
