John Stocker to appear at Unplugged Expo

John Stocker, voice actor and voice director, will be making an appearance at the Unplugged Expo convention in Toronto this October 26th and 27th. Though he is probably best known for voicing cartoon characters such as Beastly in the 80s he has also done a lot of voice directing work including the Sailor Moon S and SuperS seasons.

Unplugged Expo is having a Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary Celebration with many voice actors from the show already confirmed as guests. Check out the announcement on the Unplugged Expo Facebook page for more information.

Fans of John Stocker should check out our interview with him from Fan Expo 2012.

Fan Expo’s Sailor Moon panel will be at 2:30pm on Friday August 23rd

Sailor Moon Voice Actors' Q&A panel at Anime North 2013 featuring John Stocker, Linda Ballantyne, Katie Griffin and Susan Roman

The schedule for Fan Expo 2013, the convention taking place August 22nd to the 25th, has been released online. In it we see that the “Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary Cast Reunion” panel will be taking place on Friday afternoon at 2:30pm so if you’re not a big fan of Richard Dean Anderson I suggest you cancel all other plans and make it to that panel! As we mentioned previously there will be many guests from the Sailor Moon dub in attendance at the convention. The panel will include Toby Proctor, the voice of Tuxedo Mask, Linda Ballantyne, the voice of Sailor Moon, Susan Roman, the voice of Sailor Jupiter, Katie Griffin, the voice of Sailor Mars and John Stocker, voice director for the series.

There are no autograph sessions listed for any of these actors. The Sailor Moon guests have spots at a table in a hall on the same floor at the Expo Hall. If it’s anything like last year attendees will be free to approach them for autographs throughout the weekend while they’re at their tables. Check out the area that says “Cartoon Voice Actors” on the floor plan to find your favourite Sailor Moon star.

The panel will be taking place in 701B which you can see from the floor plan is located one floor up from the main expo hall at the far end of the hall with the main elevators.

I hope to see you at the convention.

Vincent Corazza, the voice of Tuxedo Mask and Alan, to appear at Kishi Con in Texas this September

Vincent Corazza as Darien (Tuxedo Mask) and Alan

Vincent Corazza, best known to fans as the voice of Tuxedo Mask during the S and SuperS seasons of the English dub, will be making an appearance at Kishi Con in Weslaco Texas September 6th to the 8th. Though he only took over as Tuxedo Mask later in the series Vincent Corazza was part of the English dub from the first set of dubbed episodes in his portrayal of the alien Alan from the Doom Tree story arc of Sailor Moon R.

Darien/Mamoru and Alan/Ail

Presale tickets are now on for just $30. Will you see me there? Not likely unless someone wants to fly me to Texas, but I hope all who can attend have a great time.

Rino Romano, the first voice of Tuxedo Mask, to appear at Anime Festival Orlando this weekend

Rino Romano as Tuxedo Mask

Great news for Florida Sailor Moon fans! Rino Romano, who was the original English voice of Tuxedo Mask, will be at Anime Festival Orlando 14 this coming weekend, August 16th to the 18th. The convention is only a few days away but you can still register online or at the door.

Game Machine Joe with a Sailor Mercury Doll

Rino Romano did not voice Tuxedo Mask for a terribly long time but he was the first! He voiced Tuxedo Mask or Darien for a total of 12 episodes. He voiced him in the first 11 episodes as well as voicing just Darien in the first episode of Sailor Moon R which was recorded out of order as a sort of pilot. He also voiced Game Machine Joe who was a guy with telekinetic abilities due to having the first rainbow crystal inside of him. Yes, this is a big deal for all of those rabid Game Machine Joe fangirls! Does he look like your old boyfriend? With that playing by his own rules attitude about super powers, backwards ball cap and tight fitting high waisted acid washed jeans! He could pass for a proto hipster with those black rimmed glasses! I hope all the Game Machine Joe cosplayers have got their Real D 3D glasses set aside for this con!

Bandai’s Sailor Mars S. H. Figuarts figure in colour

Sailor Mars S. H. Figuarts in colour

The colour version of Bandai’s S. H. Figuarts figure was unveiled last weekend at Wonder Festival 2013. We don’t really have more details about this figure at this point but the price should be similar to the Sailor Moon and Mercury figures which we already know more about.

New Sailor Moon R Figuarts ZERO figure

Sailor Moon R Figuarts Zero figure

Here’s yet another Sailor Moon figure that was spotted at Wonder Festival 2013 Summer held this weekend in Chiba, Japan! This is from Bandai and Volks’s Figuarts ZERO line of figures. These are not posable like the S. H. Figuarts line but rather single piece immoveable figures. These are very detailed high quality figures. Here we see Sailor Moon with her Cutie Moon Rod, her weapon from the Sailor Moon R season of the anime.

As is often the case we’re only seeing a prototype at first. If all goes well we’ll be seeing the completed version in colour soon.

First look at Legend Studio’s Sailor Moon S figure

Legend Studio's Sailor Moon S figure - Standing

We haven’t heard about Legend Studio’s line of Sailor Moon S figures since February but we’ve finally got a first look at them from the ACG HK 2013 convention. We previously only saw images of the characters and some rough 3D renders of the pieces making up the figure but now we can see a prototype of the figure itself. As is often the case with prototypes we don’t have any colours however a cardboard display does show us what the figure would look like in full colour and it looks pretty good.

Bandai’s S. H. Figuarts Sailor Jupiter prototype revealed at SDCC 2013

Bandai's Sailor Jupiter S. H. Figuarts figure at SDCC 2013

Sailor Jupiter is joining the ranks of Sailor Moon, Mercury and Mars with a great looking S. H. Figuarts figure by Bandai. This picture was taken at San Diego Comic-Con. Once again like with the other figures we’re just looking at a prototype right now. It doesn’t have any colour yet but the final figure will. We can only assume that the price point for this figure will be comparable to the others in the line. Both Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury are currently listed on Amazon for $42.

Bandai's Sailor Jupiter S. H. Figuarts figure at SDCC 2013

Bandai’s line of S. H. Figuarts figures are highly detailed and posable figures with many swappable parts. It seems likely at this point that a Sailor Venus figure won’t be far behind. Who will come after that? We can only speculate!
