Sailor Moon’s Disguise Pen toy coming this July

Another great cosplay accessory is coming this July. Sailor Moon’s Disguise Pen, known as the Luna Pen in the English dub, has been announced on the official Sailor Moon site. The toy is called the “Moonlight Memory Series Light Disguise Pen”. It’s a high quality replica which lights up and actually writes! Unlike Usagi’s pen it does not appear that this gives collectors the ability to transform into a costume of their choice.

The pen will be available for preorder later this week from Bandai Premium Bandai for 4860 yen (about $47 US) and will be released in July. It is currently also up for preorder at CD Japan for 6400 yen (about $62 US).

Sailor Mars “Soldier of Flame and Passion” and “Sailor Pop” shirts for sale today at Arteesel

Two great looking Sailor Moon shirts are for sale today only for $12 from Arteesel. The sale ends at the end of the day on March 31st. The first, a new shirt, is “Soldier of Flame and Passion” showing a silhouette of Sailor Mars. The other is “Sailor Pop“, showing Sailor Moon, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Luna in a Pop Art style.

The “Soldier of Flame and Passion” shirt is designed by sigma-astra who designed a Sailor Mercury version in this style, “Soldier of Water and Wisdom“, which previously sold on Arteesel. Check out her Facebook page, Redbubble store and Society6 store for more of her stuff. You can find all four shirts she’s done in this style at her RedBubble store.

The “Sailor Pop” shirt was previously printed at Qwertee as “Sailor Pop Art” and is designed by Edwoody. Check out his Facebook Page for more of his work. More of his Sailor Moon designs can be puchased at his Red Bubble Store.

Sailor Moon Pullip doll coming this summer

A Sailor Moon Pullip doll was shown last weekend at Anime Japan 2014. Information about this doll was also posted to the official Sailor Moon site. Pullips are Korean designed fashion dolls with very large heads. They are highly detailed and posable, including blinking eyes. They are about 12″ tall with bodies that are 1:6 scale and heads that are 1:3 scale. Pricing has not been confirmed but Pullip dolls usually sell for over $100, sometimes closer to the $200 range.

Sailor Moon Minion shirt for sale at Pop Up Tee

From now until Thursday afternoon you can pick up this great looking “Mini Moon” shirt featuring Sailor Moon as a Minion from Pop Up Tee for $12. Minions are characters from the Despicable Me movies. The Sailor Moon Minion has a Moon Stick in her(?) hand.

The shirt’s artist is Donnie who also did the “Battle For The Moon” shirt which was on sale at ShirtPunch last year. The Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary Memorial Tribute Album is available for digital download in North America

We talk about a lot of Sailor Moon merchandise on this site but things are expensive in Japan, especially when you factor in expensive shipping prices. The good news is that you can now buy a digital version of the recently released Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary Memorial Tribute Album. The album is available for just $8.99 as MP3s from Amazon.com and also for $12.90 from the iTunes store. If you’re not in the US you can search in your own country’s iTunes store for the album where it may be available. Canadians, for example, aren’t able to order Amazon.com MP3s but can download the album from the Canadian iTunes store. It’s easy to make excuses about imports being too expensive but this digital download really isn’t so if you care to support Sailor Moon this is a cheap and easy way to do so!

The main draw back of the digital version of this album is that it does not include the final track, the French language cover of Moonlight Densetsu by Clémentine. If you’re a completist I would suggest downloading that track from the Miss Dream web site. You can still buy the physical version of the CD from Amazon Japan, CD Japan or JList.

Artemis and Luna as Cat Bus shirts for sale until Monday at Arteesel

From today until Monday, March 10th, two very cool Sailor Moon shirts are on sale at Arteesel for $12 a piece. Both of these shirts feature a Sailor Moon cat as the Cat Bus from Hayao Miyazaki’s My Neighbor Totoro. Sailor Vehicle shows Artemis as the Cat Bus with Sailor V inside and Lunar Express, which has previously sold at The Yetee, features Luna as the Cat Bus with Sailor Moon inside.

From the next couple of days this “Soldier of Water and Wisdom” shirt featuring Sailor Mercury will be for sale at Arteesel. Shirts on Arteesel go on sale for 3 days at a time for just $12, so you’ll have until the end of the day Tuesday March 4th, Eastern Standard Time, to pick this shirt up.

SailorPuff Girls Sailor Moon/Powerpuff Girls t-shirt for sale today at Ript Apparel

Today’s Ript Apparel shirt, SailorPuff Girls, features Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus, Sailor Mars, Sailor Mercury and Sailor Jupiter drawn in the style of The Powerpuff Girls. This shirt is $10 today only, February 26th 2014. The shirt was previously sold at TeeFury, though the colours have been touched up and so unlike the previous shirt this version has brown hair and green eyes for Sailor Jupiter, instead of the original black hair and blue eyes which was criticized by some fans.

A look at the Sailor Mercury and Sailor Venus Figuarts Zero figures

A few weeks ago at Wonder Festival 2014 we got a look at the colour versions of the Sailor Mercury and Sailor Venus Figuarts Zero figures. We had previously only seen the colour version of Sailor Moon and the prototype for Sailor Mercury.

These 1/8 scale figures are non posable statues which stand at 8.5″ or 22 cm in height and aren’t cheap. The Sailor Moon figure will sell for 8800 yen and is listed on Amazon for $89.99. Sailor Moon goes on sale March 31st in Japan and April 22nd in North America. Sailor Mercury and Sailor Venus do not yet have release dates.

Wondering when they will reveal Sailor Mars? Me too.
