This “Usagi and the Starry Night” Sailor Moon shirt is for sale today, November 15th only, at Shirt Punch for just $10. The shirt features Usagi as Super Sailor Moon in a style similar to Vincent van Gogh’s famous painting Starry Night.
This shirt’s artist is Gilles Bonne who also designed the Attack on Moon shirt which we posted about in September. For more of his work check out his personal web site, Red Bubble store, Facebook, Twitter, deviantART or tumblr pages.
Here’s a commercial for Bandai’s PROLICA Moon Stick replica. This 1:1 high quality Moon Stick will be on sale this coming April. It will be expensive (about $90 US) and there have not been any details about a North American release of the product to date. You can pre-order it from JList now.
This commercial clearly shows that this Moon Stick is meant to be modelled after the item from the original Anime. We previously speculated that this toy might be from the new anime, set to start in January, and that the similarity and use of Kotono Mitsuishi’s voice were telling of the show’s designs and casting, but we now know that this is not relevant as it is based on the 1992 anime’s designs.
Today and today only you can pick up this very cool “Teen Soldier Romance Comics” shirt featuring Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask on the cover of an American style comic book at Shirt Punch for $10. The title seems to be a reference to “Teen Age Romance” comics which were published years ago. The date, February 1992, is about the time when the Anime first aired in Japan. As you can see the comic is approved by the Crystal Tokyo comics authority.
This shirt’s artist is DiHA. Check out the original piece that this shirt was based off of. She previously did the “Tournée du chat noir de la lune” shirt which has sold on various shirt a day sites. Here’s the first of two Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary panels from Unplugged Expo in Toronto last weekend. This is the Saturday panel from October 26th. On this panel we have Jill Frappier, the voice of Luna, Ron Rubin, the voice of Artemis, Roland Parliament, the voice of Melvin and voice director for the first 65 episodes of the dub, Julie Lemieux, the voice of Sammy, Katie Griffin, the voice of Sailor Mars, Susan Roman, the voice of Sailor Jupiter, Stephanie Morgenstern, the voice of Sailor Venus, Terri Hawkes, the voice of Sailor Moon and Toby Proctor, the voice of Tuxedo Mask. The MC at the podium is me, Adam Gardner.
The Sunday panel was recorded as well. It included Ron Rubin, Susan Roman, Terri Hawkes and Toby Proctor. It will be posted online as time permits in the coming days.

This coming weekend is the N2U anime convention in Ottawa, Ontario. We mentioned a while back that this convention would be host to a number of Sailor Moon voice actors. We now have a schedule for the convention which tells us about a number of Sailor Moon related panels that are taking place and a time for the meet and greets with the voice actors.
The Meet & Greets will be taking place in the Centennial Foyer Saturday at noon and Sunday at 2pm. This will include Linda Ballantyne, the voice of Sailor Moon, Katie Griffin, the voice of Sailor Mars, Susan Roman, the voice of Sailor Jupiter, Toby Proctor, the voice of Tuxedo Mask and John Stocker, voice director for the series.
For panels Friday from 9 to 11pm there is “A Brief History of the Moon Kingdom”. Saturday night has “Sailor Moon 101 from 10pm until midnight. Additionally on Saturday from 1pm to 3pm you can watch Sailor Moon in the video room.
Roland Parliament, the voice of Melvin and voice director for the first 65 episodes of the English dub of Sailor Moon, has written a book about his time working on the show. He spoke about this project at the Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary Panel at Unplugged Expo this past weekend in Toronto. This book was written this past summer and includes contributions and photos from many of the voice actors that worked on the original DiC dubbed episodes of Sailor Moon. The book is currently with the editor so it should be completed soon.
We’ll be sure to share any more details about this book’s release as it’s release approaches.

As opposed to other shirt a day sites this one will be on sale all week, starting at $15 today, Monday October 28th, and then selling for $20 for the rest of the week, ending Sunday November 3rd.

Unplugged Expo is just a few days away, October 26th and 27th in Toronto. There are a few exclusive items related to their Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary celebration that seem worth picking up. These 20th Anniversary exclusive t-shirts by Chop Shop Goods will be sold at the show for $20.
Another exclusive, this great looking pinup poster, is just $10. This would be a great item to get autographed by the many voice actors in attendence. It’s by artist Jon Lam. For more of his stuff check out his Facebook page, twitter page or personal web site. Voice actors will also have other items available for sale to get autographed at their table. Postcards will be $5, headshots will be $10 and posters will be $15.
I’ve also gotten more details about the Sailor Moon DQ panel which is taking place Saturday at noon. This will be a panel focusing on the music from the English dub of Sailor Moon.
We’ve got a better look at the new Tamashii Nations Moon Stick toy which we now know will go on sale in Japan next April. The Moon Stick is part of the new PROLICA line which is a portmanteau of prop and replica. This very accurate looking life sized replica will retail for 8,800 yen, which is about $90 US, though you can currently preorder it from JList for $120. The crystal included is removable. There are 7 coloured LEDs on the Moon Stick and it comes with a stand for displaying.
The Moon Stick includes a voice chip which will speak in the voice of Sailor Moon’s voice actress Kotono Mitsuishi. With the new anime planned for January, 3 months before this toy is released, some are speculating that Kotono Mitsuishi’s voice being used for this Moon Stick could mean that she will be reprising her role as Sailor Moon in the show. If a new actress was playing Sailor Moon when this toy was released it could cause confusion for this prop to have a different voice. Kotono Mitsuishi mentioned being interested in reprising her role at the 20th Anniversary Event last summer when the new anime was originally announced but we have not yet had any confirmation of any casting for the show. It’s likely that this Moon Stick’s design and voice are simply based off of the original anime, which the identical design certainly supports, but having not seen any art from the new anime yet it’s possible the new Moon Stick will also look like this.
The schedule for Unplugged Expo has been posted online so we can now confirm when the Sailor Moon related events will be taking place. At this year’s convention there will be a gathering of 10 voice actors from the english dub of Sailor Moon. This includes Stephanie Morgenstern, the voice of Sailor Venus, Katie Griffin, the voice of Sailor Mars, Susan Roman, the voice of Sailor Jupiter, Terri Hawkes, the voice of Sailor Moon, Toby Proctor, the voice of Tuxedo Mask, Jill Frappier, the voice of Luna, Ron Rubin, the voice of Artemis, Roland Parliament, the voice of Melvin, Julie Lemieux, the voice of Serena’s brother Sammy and John Stocker, voice director. This is going to be the largest gathering of english Sailor Moon voice actors in convention history so it should not be missed by any fan who can make it to Toronto this weekend.
The main panels featuring these voice actors will be the Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary panels taking place Saturday at 1pm and Sunday at 2pm. Following each of these panels will be autograph sessions running from 2 to 3pm on Saturday and 3 to 4pm on Sunday.
In addition to these voice actor panels there are a few other events of interest going on. Saturday at 11am will be a Sailor Moon products panel run by Emily from the Moon Chase Sailor Moon news blog. Directly following this at 12pm is a Sailor Moon DQ panel which I don’t have any details on but it has Sailor Moon in it’s title so I’m sure it’ll be fun. Sailor Moon cosplayers will want to check out the How to Make Sailor Moon Fuku panel presented by Cosmeko which will be Saturday afternoon at 4pm.
Schedules are always subject to change so be sure to double check the times when you get to the convention. Pre-registration is still open until October 21st.
