Here are some photos of some Chihuahuas cosplaying as your favourite Sailor Soldiers! A Japanese Instagram user going by mayama_ya has made these cute Sailor Fuku for Sailor Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus for her pet chihuahuas and taken a ton of pictures for you to enjoy. The detail in these costumes is better than I’ve seen in a lot of human sized cosplay efforts!
The latest books in the complete editions of the Sailor Moon manga were released in Japan on February 26th. Volume 7 features Sailor Pluto and Sailor Saturn on the cover while volume 8 features Sailor Chibi Moon. These issues cover the entirety of the Dream arc with Pegasus and the Dead Moon Circus. These books are Japanese text only and include all of the colour pages which were previously only seen in the pages of Nakayoshi.
Also included in these books are a few side stories. Chibiusa’s Picture Diary 3 is the story of Chibiusa’s adventures going to the dentist, and fighting a monster on the way. There are also three “Exam Battle” stories which follow the girls in their preparations for their high school entrance exams. We have The Melancholy of Makoto, Ami’s First Love and Rei and Minako’s Girl School Battle?
Volumes 9 and 10 will wrap up the series with the Stars arc. Hopefully Sailor V will be published soon as well though I have seen no official confirmation of this.

Today’s Ript Apparel shirt, SailorPuff Girls, features Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus, Sailor Mars, Sailor Mercury and Sailor Jupiter drawn in the style of The Powerpuff Girls. This shirt is $10 today only, February 26th 2014. The shirt was previously sold at TeeFury, though the colours have been touched up and so unlike the previous shirt this version has brown hair and green eyes for Sailor Jupiter, instead of the original black hair and blue eyes which was criticized by some fans.

A few weeks ago at Wonder Festival 2014 we got a look at the colour versions of the Sailor Mercury and Sailor Venus Figuarts Zero figures. We had previously only seen the colour version of Sailor Moon and the prototype for Sailor Mercury.
These 1/8 scale figures are non posable statues which stand at 8.5″ or 22 cm in height and aren’t cheap. The Sailor Moon figure will sell for 8800 yen and is listed on Amazon for $89.99. Sailor Moon goes on sale March 31st in Japan and April 22nd in North America. Sailor Mercury and Sailor Venus do not yet have release dates.

The 5th and 6th volumes of the new Complete Editions of the Sailor Moon manga are in stores in Japan now. I received my copy a few days ago. The Complete Editions of the Sailor Moon manga are a slightly larger format with glossy pages and all colour pages originally appearing in the pages of Nakayoshi. The entire series will be collected over 10 volumes. Volumes 5 and 6 cover the entirety of the Infinity arc, which includes the appearance of Sailor Neptune, Uranus and Saturn as well as the Death Busters. It ends with the appearance of Pegasus setting up the next two books. Also included are Chibiusa’s Picture Diary Chapter 2 and the Princess Kaguya’s Lover story. These are normally included in this order, as opposed to earlier side stories which were included early at the end of volume 4.

Today, January 19th 2014, this “SailorPuff Girls” shirt will be for sale at TeeFury. This 4th of July weekend, July 3rd to the 6th, Anime Expo in Los Angeles will be playing host to a huge number of Sailor Moon voice actors. A few weeks ago the first round of guests were announced as the convention would welcome all five of the Sailor Soliders, Linda Ballantyne, Sailor Moon, Karen Bernstein, Sailor Mercury, Katie Griffin, Sailor Mars, Susan Roman, Sailor Jupiter and Stephanie Morgenstern, Sailor Venus. This past weekend another bunch of actors were added with Toby Proctor, Tuxedo Mask, Mary Long who voice Molly, Catsy and JunJun, Ron Rubin, Artemis and John Stocker, voice director for the movies and final two seasons.
All of these actors have done many other voice acting roles. This gathering is once again being billed as part of the Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary which was first celebrated in February of 2012. This July the 20th celebration will be well into it’s third year. Will we continue celebrating Sailor Moon’s 20th Anniversary up until it’s 25th Anniversary? Only time will tell!
This past weekend at Anime South in Florida professional cosplayers Jessica Nigri, Monika Lee, Riddle and Katie George cosplayed as Sailor Scouts from Sailor Moon!
The costumes were made over a week’s time by Monika Lee, Riddle and Katie George. Jessica Nigri was Sailor Venus, Monika Lee was Sailor Mars, Riddle was Sailor Mercury and Katie George was Sailor Jupiter. No Sailor Moon in sight! Today, December 27th 2013, this Sailor Pop Art shirt will be for sale for $12 at Qwertee. The shirt is only on sale until 6pm EST. The design features Sailor Moon, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Luna in a Pop Art style.

The Tamashii Nations’ official Sailor Moon site has been updated with details about the Sailor Venus S. H. Figuarts figure which will be on sale starting in April. We finally have a look at some of the alternate faces and accessories and can now confirm that the figure will indeed come with Artemis and will also include Sailor V’s mask!
As with the other figures Sailor Venus will be 14 cm tall, roughly 5.5″. The site lists her price as being 4536 yen, roughly $43 US. This seems to be more than the other figures sold for but this is because the Japanese sales tax will go from 5% to 8% on April first, which will affect this figure. The pre tax price for all S. H. Figuarts figures is 4200 yen, about $40 US, so this figure will cost you about the same as the others did.
Speaking of other figures! Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury are out. Sailor Mars has recently been released in Japan and will be for sale in North America as of January 15th. You can order Sailor Moon and Mercury and pre-order Sailor Mars from the links below to support this site.
There are currently no sites offering international preorders for Sailor Venus but we will share that information as it becomes available. Preorders in Japan begin January 7th.
