Palutena from Super Smash Bros. Wii U

At this year’s E3 a lot of new characters were revealed for the new Super Smash Bros. game for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS including Palutena from Kid Icarus. As can be heard in the video below, Palutena’s voice is provided by Aya Hisakawa, the original Japanese voice of Sailor Mercury from Sailor Moon.

Aya Hisakawa also provided the voice of Palutena for the Kid Icarus Uprising video game for the 3DS which was released a couple of years ago. The game is great, though I had played it in English where she’s referred to as Lady Palutena and I had no idea who did her Japanese voice.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Palatial Tank Dress - Princess Serenity's dress

Animal Crossing: New Leaf was released today to US audiences. As the fourth game in the series this one has even more costumes and accessories than ever before including an item called the “Palatial Tank Dress” which looks suspiciously like Princess Serenity’s dress from Sailor Moon.

Apologies for my simply dressed character. As the game just came out today I do not yet have the ability to style my hair or deck myself in the appropriate accessories that would be fitting of a princess but I was lucky enough to find this dress in the store on the first day. Just looking at the dress, do you think this reference is intentional or a coincidence?

Is Bandai working on a Sailor Moon video game for the Nintendo 3DS?

A few web sites have posted news about a rumour of a new Sailor Moon video game for the Nintendo 3DS game. I feel that it’s necessary to be specific about just how prelimenary this information really is. All that has happened is that “SAILOR MOON videogame for Wii/Wii U petition“, a Facebook group trying to petition to have a new Sailor Moon game made, made this post on the S.H. Figuarts Facebook page asking them to create a new Sailor Moon game. Their answer was “After the 2013 Anime aired, Bandai Namco games will make it. Probally for 3DS like Inazuma Eleven“. Keep in mind of course that S.H. Figuarts is a line of toys, including the new Sailor Moon figure that Bandai is releasing in August, and that they are not responsible for creating video games. Whether they have inside information about Bandai’s plans to create a 3DS game or that they are simply speculating about the creation of such a game is not clear at this point. When asked for more information they simply stated it was to be announced.
