Last week there was a roundtable with the voices of the Amazoness Quartet and this week, on December 27th, a similar live event took place on Cinema Today YouTube channel featuring the voices of the Amazon Trio! This 23 minute event included never previously seen images of the Amazon Trio, though we had previously seen some of the images from this clip during the Amazoness Quartet roundtable. You can watch the clip on YouTube which is embedded below.
The event features Shota Aoi, the voice of Fish Eye, Satoshi Hino, the voice of Tiger’s Eye, and Toshiyuki Toyonaga, the voice of Hawk’s Eye. For convenience the subtitles are the colour of each character’s hair!
As I don’t speak Japanese I can’t give much context to anything discussed here but it is always fun to see what the voice actors behind a character look like beyond a simple headshot! Which one of the Amazon Trio is your favourite?
Sailor Moon Eternal Part 1 will be released in theatres in Japan on January 8th 2021 with Part 2 coming shortly afterwards on February 11th. Though there is some justified speculation about the movies coming to Netflix at some point this has not yet been officially confirmed.
Get caught up with the series before the films are released by using the Amazon links below or streaming the episodes on Crunchyroll or Hulu in the US or on Tubi in Canada. It might also be a good idea to read or reread the Dream Arc of the manga which these movies are based on. In the latest Eternal Edition of the Sailor Moon Manga, by far the highest quality version we’ve gotten, the Dream Arc is contained in volumes 7 and 8 which collect Acts 39, Eclipse Dream, through 49, Earth and Moon Dream, as well as some side stories.
Keep reading for more images from this event including those screenshots of the Amazon Trio which we saw at the Amazoness Quartet event.
There’s a video on the sailormoon-offical YouTube channel of Momoiro Clover; Sailor Moon DVD release or something along those lines, and within it are many new images of the Sailor Moon Eternal film. Email me if you want the photos of the new images, or you could just watch the video and pick them out from there, up to you.
There’s a video I saw on YouTube of Sailor Venus’ Love and Beauty Shock. It just shows a glimpse of it, but she just ends up sending roses towards the viewer. I like that because it’s like the beautiful rose chain in the manga, but they weren’t glowing or anything and it didn’t look as amazing or special as it should have.
I’m pretty sure you have these already, sorry to bother. Later
oops wrong one, i was wanting to reply to my own comment, sorry
Speaking about voice actors, isnt Princess Sissi played by one of the original va’s of sailor moon? Just listend to it in english and it sounds like that old lady sounding one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpY499T_kyQ
I’ve never seen this series but that is without a doubt Terri Hawkes.
Oh my! This is a cartoon that I used to watch when I was a kid. I even had a Sissi doll! This doll’s dress was the blue one that we can see at 0:35 in the video, and it was my favourite dress. It’s a French-Québécois cartoon. If my memory serves me well, Sissi’s best friend was named Ida too . And Ida, just like Sissi, really existed.
This is a nice roundtable talk.
Do you know if the movie will be released digitally alongside theaters? This is usually not the case, but due the COVID, i am wondering if there will be a simultaneous release.
If so that means i really need to catch up fast with the 2nd and 3rd seasons (Like in 3-4 days.)
If not it should allow me to take it easier and watch it a an easier more laid back pace…
I cannot find information about this anywhere.
No official announcement. It seems Netflix is likely outside of Japan. No indication of whether or not that will also include Japan and no idea on the timing of that.
