Hulu now has a page for Sailor Moon Crystal, the new Sailor Moon anime, and will begin streaming it on July 5th. Previously only Niconico and Crunchyroll had been announced as streaming the series, but now Hulu and Neon Alley have been confirmed as offering the series as well. New episodes will be added on the first and third Saturday of every month. Viz Media has placed an English subtitled version of the Sailor Moon Crystal trailer on their YouTube channel to advertise the series airing on Hulu and Neon Alley. You can also watch the trailer with commercials on Hulu!

Hulu is already streaming the original Sailor Moon anime which is being subbed by Viz and will be adding dubbed episodes later this year. Since Hulu and Hulu Plus have ads in their service, fans looking for an ad free experience may still prefer to watch the series on Crunchyroll. Viz will be releasing the original Sailor Moon series and Sailor Moon Crystal dubbed and subbed on DVD and Blu-Ray at a later date.

  1. I don’t know why FRICKING hulu gets better anime!!!!!! I swear why has Hulu getting all the attention!!!!!!???? It would be Very Nice to have it in Netflix!!!!!

    • Its because Netflix only releases completed seasons, while Hulu is current TV. So shows that are being released one episode at a time tend to be released on Hulu, and then around the same time that they are available on DVD they will probably show up on Netflix if they have a contract.

Its the difference between a TV streaming service, and a DVD streaming service. :)

More then likely it will still come to Netflix! You just have to wait for the completed season!! 8D

  2. Hulu is such a pain. It’s constantly locking up after commercials and I have to refresh…and then rewatch commercials.
I can’t believe they actually make you watch commercials when you pay also…what is the point? They claim it’s because it makes it more affordable, but really, I’m not buying that.
Either way, I can’t wait for the new anime! (but I’ll have to)

  3. I think I’m sticking with the NicoNico release, since I don’t know the other sites, which means I will have to wake up at 4 in the morning to see each premier! :D

  4. I’d rather watch MissDream’s subs for this – loved the way they subbed the trailer it’s not americanized like other groups do (I mean there are SONG LYRICS and JAPANESE NAME ORDER!!! Words are (hopefully) not mistranslated to fit the american audience and the subs are NOT YELLOW!!!)

    • I would support the original subbed release, since it’s uh…official, and directly supports the people behind the series that you love.

Miss Dream are not going to sub SMC. They want fans to support the official release too.

  5. Viz will be releasing the original Sailor Moon series and Sailor Moon Crystal dubbed and subbed on DVD and Blu-Ray at a later date?

Am I seeing correctly or is Viz really going to release Sailor Moon Crystal with dub?

  6. This is good to know for those of us who want to watch without a subscription for anything. Saves me the trouble of downloading too! Thanks for posting this news!
