The next episode of Sailor Moon Crystal, Act 19, Time Warp – Sailor Pluto, will become available to stream on Crunchyrull, Hulu and Niconico starting this coming Saturday April 4th. The show will be available starting at 7pm Japan Standard Time which is 6am Eastern Time, 3am Pacific Time. This week the gang travels to the future and meets Sailor Pluto, the guardian of the Space-Time Door.
Sailor Mercury, Mars and Jupiter remain kidnapped leaving just Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus, Tuxedo Mask, Luna and Artemis to travel to the future with Chibiusa to save her mother. On their trip to 30th Century Crystal Tokyo they are confronted by Sailor Pluto. Will she kill them for trying to travel through time?
More importantly this week Mamoru and Usagi appear to have some sex. Is this the first time this happens? That’s not something we could pretend to understand. It’s been a year since Usagi first slept at his place and a lot can happen in that time. Indeed it’s debateable what even happens here but Mamoru grabs Usagi, lays her down and starts kissing her right before an abrupt scene transition to where Luna and Artemis are also shown sleeping together. They usually sleep in different houses so it does not appear that any sexual activity has happened between these two, but it will at one point in the next 1000 or so years! This episode will briefly feature Diana, Luna and Artemis’s daughter from the future. Her voice actor was confirmed earlier this week as being Shoko Nakagawa, an actress and singer best know for being on the Pokémon Sunday variety show.
Where does it say exactly that the space between arcs is a year? I know in the original anime the story arcs occurred within months of each other, seeing as Usagi started out in her second year of junior high and the anime ended in Usagi’s first year of high school. Also, are we sure that Crystal is doing a year’s break between arcs as well? Because when Rei got her vision of the Black Moon clan on its way, I got the impression it couldn’t have been that long since the Dark Kingdom fell.
Maybe that’s just me though.
They were in 8th grade at the beginning of Crystal and they specifically say in Act 14 after the battle against Metalia that they’re entering the 9th grade.
Really? I’m going to have to go back and watch that again.
I’ve always took it as them being physically intimate without having sex in that scene. I think the author might have just left it open for interpretation.
We know she didn’t get pregnant until she was in her early 20’s, but probably before she was married since she says she feels the birth of a new star.
I’m not sure if either of them would have any qualms about having sex in the floor with Chibi Usa in the next room though, since we all know Mamoru can’t resist stealing kisses while Usagi is passed out.
One thing that is a huge departure in Crystal compared to the original manga is Usagi’s attitude towards Mamoru. She’s no longer a clingy, dependent brat, there’s more of an equal standing…maybe with Usagi being more in charge and Mamo being closer to the needy one this time (he’s not weak, just he seems to need Usagi more than she needs him, at least in my opinion.)
I hope Serena and Darien don’t have sex in this episode

I don’t get why people are getting excited over the kitchen floor scene. I mean, PLUTO IS DEBUTING THIS EPISODE. How awesome is that?
That’s good. I just don’t think sex is good for Serena and Darien
The guy who goes crazy for midriffs doesn’t want a sex scene? I’m confused.
And would you stop using the bad dub names?
He’s trying really hard to be funny.
The episode heavily implies sex, which is just fine with me, but it was hardly the most exciting thing about the episode. Pluto and Crystal Tokyo and those Black Moon twins… so much good stuff,
I doubt they’ll show full hardcore sex and even the manga scene is a very tame scene. I’m more concerned that it’ll be like a scene earlier in this arc where Crystal randomly changed it so that Mamoru forced Usagi to kiss him and it was very awkward and an unnecessary change. I’m just hoping Toei doesn’t make their love scene look like rape.
By the way, is the Adam who runs this blog the same Adam who wrote into Anime News Network’s Answerman column this week with the question about gay stereotypes in anime?
