Interview with Linda Ballantyne, the voice of Sailor Moon, at Fan Expo 2013

A couple of weeks ago at Fan Expo 2013 I caught up with Linda Ballantyne, the voice of Sailor Moon from the Sailor Moon S and SuperS seasons, for the following interview.

The radio show that’s mentioned is “I’m Just Sayin'” which is part of Canada Talks, Channel 167, on SiriusXM Canada. You can also check out the show’s Facebook page.

Thanks a lot to Linda Ballantyne for joining us for this interview. Already posted to the site are the panel from this year’s Fan Expo as well as an interview with Susan Roman, the voice of Sailor Jupiter. An interview with Toby Proctor, the voice of Tuxedo Mask, will be posted to the site as time permits.

I’ve received a lot of question about the shirt I’m wearing. This “Lunar Express” shirt was sold on The Yetee earlier this year. It was a limited time sale but it can still be bought from RedBubble. The shirt’s artist is Machmigo.

  1. I know I’m in the minority, but I think Linda was my favorite Sailor Moon.
I know Terri was more iconic, but I felt she was often far too strained in her performances. Moth Linda and Terri were bad about that though. I also felt Linda would be great at voicing teenage boy characters too. Her Sailor Moon sounded a bit of a tomboy.
Tracey had the cutest voice though.

  4. I agree wholeheartedly. Linda Ballantyne was always my favorite English dub Sailor Moon. Linda had this amazing and dramatic adult power to her voice and when things would get serious for Sailor Moon, she would go from teen cute to inspiring. If you ever get to read this, Linda….thank you.
