Check out images of Mamoru and the rest of the characters in Sailor Moon Crystal

Mamoru, Tuxedo Mask, from Sailor Moon Crystal

A few magazine pictures have popped up with images from Sailor Moon Crystal, the new Sailor Moon anime set to begin playing on July 5th. With the first we finally get a look at Mamoru, the civilian form of Tuxedo Mask. He seems decently old and he has glasses. Though he looks old in this picture the description does mention that he is a high school student (Thanks to Emurii from our Facebook page for spotting this). Off to the side on this image we see Minako and Makoto. Of note in Minako’s description is a mention of Sailor V, confirming that she will exist in this continuity. The second image is a group shot of the five girls, Minako, Usagi, Ami, Rei and Makoto, at a table at a restaurant.

  1. Oh my lord!!!!!!!! Dammit I was right all along. I knew that something like this would pop out sooner!!!!!!!!! Omg I’m soooooo FRICKING EXCITED!!!!!!!!! Thank you for posting this up, you made my day!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Almost didn’t recognize Mamoru! He looks a bit like a teacher. Still, I like that restaurant shot. It’s really helping me get used to these new looks. July 5th will be interesting.

  3. Okay wait a min, this Mamoru is different from the manga and the anime… Im actually not sure if I like it. Mamoru was cooler then Darien and more adult. At least that’s how I interpreted him…

  4. Oooh I’m loving the restaurant shot!
I disliked the new designs from day one: I didn’t have any problem with them being so lean but the faces just seemed wrong to me, especially if they were trying to make the design look more like the manga. But here I see the mouths are placed closer to the nose, just like the manga designs.
Now I’m really looking forward to watching this <3
