Sailor Moon Crystal Act 8 - Minako winking

The next English dubbed episode of Sailor Moon Crystal will be available this Friday, January 1st, at 9pm Eastern Time on Hulu and Neon Alley. This week we get Act 8, Minako – Sailor V, which introduces us to Sailor Venus. Is there really anyone who is going to believe that Minako is actually Princess Serenity? Regardless, we will be made to believe this is true in this episode. With the introduction of Minako we will also see Artemis, her wise mentor who I’m totally shipping her with.

Cherami Leigh will be voicing Sailor Venus and Johnny Yong Bosch, Adam the Black Power Ranger, will voice Artemis the cat. As with other voice actors these are the same voices which Viz used in their new dub of the original Sailor Moon anime. Follow them on Twitter at @cheramileigh and @johnnyyongbosch.

  1. Speaking of Johnny Yong Bosch, I mostly associate him with the role of Lelouch vi Britannia from Code Geass. And I follow him on Facebook, and one day he posts a picture on his page that shows all the various roles he’s had in anime over the years. And I comment, “I’ve been watching Sailor Moon lately, and I mostly associate your voice work with Lelouch from Code Geass. So whenever Artemis comes on and starts talking, I keep expecting him to shout, ‘I will obliterate Britannia!'” He actually saw that comment and liked it, which made my day.
So there’s a funny, somewhat related to the article story for you. Happy New Year.

  2. Personally I always associate Bosch with Vash the Stampede in the Trigun dub. That was like his breakout role in anime dubbing and I still think it’s a fantastic performance. Even years later, I still think it’s even better than the Japanese version.
