I think a wand is a much cooler toy, but I guess it depends on the plot of this movie as to why they chose the locket.
How many people will want to wear this around their neck though….I don’t forsee that many. Plus, if you wear it around your neck, you have to look down to see it activate, which takes your eyes off of the movie. At least with the wand, you can hold it up in the air and see it.
