Moreover, he’s Tuxedo Kamen/Prince/King Endymion, a super hero as well as the rightful ruler of our planet… and for these reasons, the police wouldn’t be able to arrest him, he would be too strong to be caught. That’s also why he has a good excuse to be in illegality with Usagi… because he is the righful ruler of our planet. Also, he’s an orphan and, as wrote Adam, Usagi’s parents’ mental state is questionable… so everything is permitted, the way is clear : Mamoru Chiba, or thug life incarnate…

(If we wanted to go further – but I think it’s off topic -, we could talk about Venus and Kunzite… if Kunzite had not been killed by Metalia, he would be in couple with a 14-15 year old girl, and he is supposed to be… 25 (see N. Takeuchi’s Materials Collection. And what about Chibiusa in love with her own father ? Yeah, this is Sailor Moon…)

Good luck proving parental approval!
Mother and father have a questionable mental state because they keep getting and losing a mental delusion about having niece.
Other mother is actually a computer recreation of an uploaded consciousness residing on an ancient yet futuristic super computer on the Moon.
Other father has never been seen or heard of.
Also this is nothing considering he fathered a child with Usagi who, according to any reasonable estimate of the passage of time, was born when her mother was at the oldest about 10 years old. DNA testing would verify this.
Not to mention all the people she’s killed and her friends recently disappearing. I wouldn’t want to start investigating these guys.

Well, a year is supposed to pass between each arc, so Mamoru would be about 18 and Usagi 15 at the time of this story if that holds up. In Japan, an adult cannot have sex with someone under the age of 18 (though sometimes exceptions are made with parental approval in the context of a sincere romantic relationship), so I think Mamoru is toeing the legal line, as it were. Still, I don’t think anyone’s going to arrest him for it. Too much to do in the meantime, like defeat people from the future and aliens and whatnot.

I was just curious to know how acceptable their relationship would be in a real life situation. Even in Crystal, though their relationship is much closer in age than the 90s anime, Mamoru is still at best like around 16 or 17, and Usagi is 14 and many states have Romeo and Juliet laws against this type of a relationship. There was a news story a few years ago about a lesbian couple in Florida who was arrested because one of the girls in the relationship was in middle school and the older one was in high school even though they started the relationship when they were both in middle school and there was a lot of controversy at the time about the ethics of these types of laws.
