I’m surprised no one’s done some fan art showing Rei’s grandfather, Happosai, Master Roshi, and Jiraiya having beers and sharing dirty magazines or peeping techniques.

That’s a good point, but Japan is kind of notorious for serial pervs like that, what with their train gropers and all, and the pervy old man character is an anime staple. I’m looking at you, Happosai!

Episode 63 is one of the more troublesome episodes of the original anime. Nowhere in the real world would Rei’s grandfather be acceptable and he’d be arrested if he tried that kind of stunt, but for some reason, anime expects us to find this funny and I have no idea why. This was one episode where I felt like it was better in the dub since they pretty much erased Rei’s grandfather’s sexual harassment and made him a more decent character.
